Mr. Overland’s architectural firm, established in 1980, is certified in the states of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. He is also able to practice nationally through the National Council of Architectural Registration Board. The firm has designs across many industries; commercial, religious, and residential projects, with over 40 projects a year managed concurrently. His philosophy of “Creativity isn’t enough – communication between the architect, the clients, the consultants, and the builders is the key to good architecture,” has served as a creative basis for his communicating architectural principles and values. Mr. Overland’s firm has the motto of “Good design doesn’t just happen.”
Mr. Overland has won several awards, including one for his own home by the Westport Historic Preservation Trust. He was also asked by ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover – Home Addition to be the architect for the Connecticut home that aired Oct. 14, 2007. His experience includes hundreds of residential alterations, additions, and new homes, as well as commercial projects including the Waterview, Riverview & Candlewood Banquet Facilities, Waterbury Federal Teachers Credit Union, Wells Fargo and David Lerner’s Investment Regional Headquarters, , veterinary hospitals, health spas, St. Elizabeth’s Seton Church, and many well-known restaurants.
Mr. Overland has donated his services and funds to countless nonprofit organizations and has been published over 50 times in various newspapers and magazines.
